MANITEX RECEIVES $5 MILLION IN NEW ORDERS
BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. -- Manitex International Inc. says it has received $4 million worth of orders for the company's boom truck cranes during the third and fourth quarters of 2010.
Manitex also received $1 million worth of orders for its military material handling machines during the same time span, the company said June 9.
The crane orders are from Manitex dealers in North America and the United Arab Republic as well as end users in South America, said Scott Rolston, Manitex senior vice president of sales and marketing.
Many of the North American and UAR dealers "are seeing a surge in demand from their oil and gas extraction based customers," he said. South American end users are "experiencing increased demand from multiple sectors," Rolston said.
The orders for military handling equipment are from United States-based customers and one from the Spanish military, the company said.
